Exactly what I needed September 17, 2008 Dylan (Tempe, AZ) I have a Canon 5D with a 16-35L II lens (which is close to the length of a standard 200mm zoom) and this case fits perfectly. It's definitely a very tight fit but that's what I was hoping for. I bought this case to keep my camera safe on hiking trips. There is a little sleeve pocket on the back and a little compartment on the top. You can probably stuff 2-6 flash cards in the top compartment and some lens cleaning supplies in the sleeve. If you like to carry lots of accessories then look elsewhere but if you are looking for a minimalist solution (especially for backpacking) then buy with confidence.
Great for SLR+lens September 2, 2008 Brandon Nickel (Peoria, IL United States) This case does what it's intended for very well. It's light, compact and holds my Nikon D80 and attached 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens. The build quality is excellent and the lining and padding are very nice. If you just want to carry an SLR and a large zoom lens, this is the bag for you. The price is hard to beat.
However, that said, I'm going to be looking for another bag in the near future. I have a Tamrac that holds several lenses, speedlight and an SLR, but it won't hold them all with a lens mounted. So, I was hoping this bag would be my solution to keeping a superzoom on the camera all the time. I overlooked my desire to keep a speedlight and filters handy. I use fill-flash a great deal of the time and this bag has no provision to carry one. There isn't enough extra room in the main compartment for a speedlight and the small side pouch will not comfortably hold a filter-carrier. There are no side-loops or other attachment points, just a thick belt-loop on the body-side.
I'm currently looking at the LowePro Mini-Mag as I think it might be the solution for my particular application.
Good travel bag August 17, 2008 singnsaw (Williamson, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This bag will protect my rebel XSI with the 18 55 lens with no trouble.Great for hiking, camping trip or day out, where you would not need your other lens and equipment.
Not quite deep enough July 29, 2008 M. Horsley This is a very nice case, with a long strap that can be worn over the shoulder or around the waist. I had purchased it thinking it would work to carry my canon rebel with the EF 70-200 lens attached; however, it is not quite deep enough for that (unless I leave the lid unzipped). I can carry the camera with the kit lens attached and another smaller lens in the bottom section, so I will get a lot of use out of the case, even if not for the purpose intended.
Very Good July 15, 2008 Shashi Bhandari (new jersey) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very good, can accomodate my D80 with a variery of lenses. Strong construction. Not much pockets but very functional.
